Carrie Sommer (that’s me ⬆️)
I am a former entrepreneur, current freelance social media manager*, amateur photographer, eager traveler, minimalist fashion wannabe, married to an amazing man, with 3 grown children (men!), who have flown the nest, (for the most part). I am an avid reader of blogs, collector of information, health nut, foodie, design & creativity junkie. I wanted to find a place where women of a certain age could find curated content that fits their lifestyle and stage in life. I concentrate on wellness, health & food because that’s a big interest of mine; fashion, beauty & design, because I’m a visual person and like pretty things; and travel, because this is a big, beautiful world and we’re only exposed to tiny part of it. Plus, being an empty nester means we no longer have to deal with childcare & we have built in housesitters when we need them (insert fireworks here 💥).
Driving to Mojave. What’s in a name?
There is a back-story, but it’s long & involved and certainly, you have better things to do. But drawing a parallel, suffice it to say, Los Angeles is a wide and sprawling metropolis. If you drive about two hours north or east, you eventually end up in the Mojave Desert. It is a vast, quiet and beautiful place, and encompasses mountain ranges and desert plateaus. Thanks to the incessant Los Angeles traffic, it can take a while to get there. But once you reach it, there is a myriad of ways to explore it, things to do and places to go.
Life is like that.
It’s like Driving to Mojave.
